School Houses

Acutis (Blue House)

Acutis House is inspired by Carlo Acutis, a young role model of faith, kindness, and creativity. Born in 1991, Carlo lived a short but meaningful life, passing away at the age of 15, yet leaving a powerful legacy of faith and service. Carlo loved computers, technology, and animals, and used his skills to share his Catholic faith with others. One of his most well-known projects was creating a website documenting Eucharistic miracles from around the world, showing how technology could be used for good. He was also known for his kindness and compassion, especially toward those who were struggling or left out. His life reflected the values of faith, creativity, generosity, and service. As members of Acutis House, students are encouraged to follow Carlo’s example by using their talents, caring for others, and living with faith and kindness.

MacKillop (Red House)

MacKillop House is inspired by St. Mary MacKillop, a courageous Australian leader in faith and education. Born in Melbourne in 1842, Mary understood the challenges faced by many families and believed strongly in the importance of education for all.

Alongside Julian Tenison Woods, she founded the Sisters of St Joseph, dedicated to serving people in rural and disadvantaged communities. Through their work, schools and places of care were established to ensure education and support were available to those who needed it most. Mary lived with courage, compassion, faith and justice. Her words, “Never see a need without doing something about it,” reflect the spirit of MacKillop House, encouraging students to help others, stand up for what is right, and lead with kindness and faith. Faith.

Chisholm (Yellow House)

Chisholm House is inspired by Caroline Chisholm, a compassionate leader who dedicated her life to helping others. Born in England in 1808, Caroline later moved to Australia where she saw the struggles faced by many new immigrants, particularly women and families without support. Determined to help, Caroline worked tirelessly to assist thousands of immigrants in finding jobs, homes, and opportunities for a better life. She established shelters and support services, offering safety, guidance, and hope to those in need. Known for her compassion, courage, and strong sense of justice, Caroline believed everyone deserved dignity and opportunity. As members of Chisholm House, students are encouraged to follow her example by showing kindness, standing up for fairness, and serving their community with care.

Goold (Green House)

Goold House is inspired by James Alipius Goold, a visionary leader who helped shape the Catholic Church in Australia. Born in Ireland in 1812, he came to Australia as an Augustinian priest and in 1848 became Melbourne’s first Catholic bishop.

Bishop Goold believed strongly in the power of faith, education, and community. He worked tirelessly to build churches and schools, partnering with religious orders to expand Catholic education and support young people in their learning and faith.

Through his leadership and dedication, he helped lay the foundations for many Catholic communities and schools that continue to thrive today. As members of Goold House, students are encouraged to follow his example by showing leadership, building strong friendships, and contributing positively to their school community.
