Our Vision
Digital Technologies equips students with the knowledge, skills and confidence to participate successfully in an increasingly connected world.
Aligned with the Victorian Curriculum 2.0, our program develops computational thinking, creativity, collaboration and problem-solving. Students learn to use technology purposefully, safely and ethically as capable and responsible digital citizens.
How We Teach
Digital Technologies is taught as a specialist subject and integrated across the curriculum. Through explicit teaching, guided practice and authentic learning experiences, students learn to:
- design, create, test and evaluate digital solutions
- develop coding, computational and problem-solving skills
- explore robotics, automation and digital systems
- collect, organise and interpret data
- create multimedia presentations, animations and digital stories
- communicate and collaborate using digital technologies
- behave safely, respectfully and responsibly online.
Students in Years 1–6 receive a secure Google Workspace for Education account to access resources, organise their learning and collaborate with teachers and peers.
Learning in Action
Technology is used with a clear educational purpose to enrich learning, deepen understanding and encourage creativity. Learning experiences are carefully sequenced to help students build confidence and independently apply their skills across different contexts.
Students may explore coding, robotics, data, multimedia creation and real-world problem-solving while developing the ability to think critically and adapt to changing technologies.
Safe and Responsible Technology Use
Digital citizenship is explicitly taught across all year levels. In partnership with families, we support students to use technology safely, ethically and respectfully, guided by our Catholic values of dignity, responsibility and care for others.
As learners who are Called to Learn, students are encouraged to use their knowledge and creativity to communicate, solve problems, serve others and contribute positively to their communities.
Student ICT Usage Policy
All students are expected to follow the Student ICT Usage Policy, which outlines their responsibilities when using the school’s digital tools, accounts and network.
